"Always Question Authority"

From Mark Twain to President Ron Regan, individualist leaders have publicy spoken this old axion. The Clip below from "An Interview with Cindy Lovell: About Training ‘Twainiacs’" clearly demonstrats the common sense and truth of "Always Question Authority" that Mark Twain and President Regan found in this old axion

At one point, the protagonist, Hank Morgan, is attempting to explain why a monarchy is oppressive, especially compared to a democracy. He coined the term "New Deal" (which FDR acknowledged borrowing from Twain) and encouraged the citizens to rise up against such a government:

"My kind of loyalty was loyalty to one's country, not to its institutions or its office-holders. The country is the real thing, the substantial thing…institutions are extraneous, they are its mere clothing, and clothing can wear out, become ragged…

To be loyal to rags, to shout for rags, to worship rags, to die for rags - that is a loyalty of unreason… the citizen who thinks he sees that the commonwealth's political clothes are worn out, and yet holds his peace and does not agitate for a new suit, is disloyal; he is a traitor."
